Carmine Galati, of Galati Yacht Sales, began his involvement in the marine industry working for the Galati family business in his youth. He took on his first management role at Galati Yacht Sales in 1980. During that time, he not only managed the service department at Galati's, but was also a master technician for Detroit Diesel and a certified technician for OMC, Volvo, and several outboard motor manufacturers. After 17 years managing the service side of the business and building the customer support team, Carmine began digging into the sales side of the business. He served on Dealer Advisory Boards for several manufacturers and served as commodore of the Bradenton Yacht Club, the youngest commodore in the history of the club.

Carmine's passion has always been to educate and elevate the marine industry and to consistently improve the customer experience from the initiation of a sale to the servicing and maintenance of vessels. As such, Carmine has been a strong supporter of professional development for all positions and all facets of the industry-sales, business office personnel, service technicians and crew members. He is an advocate of educational initiatives such as the YBI (Yacht Broker Institute), the CPYB (Certified Professional Yacht Broker) program and continues to push for the sharing of best practices that are used in the marine industry today.

As an avid angler and supporter of the tournament circuit, Carmine received his most prized award this year as the 44th Masters Angling Tournament Champion. He enjoys sharing his love of the water and fishing with others by promoting the safe enjoyment of the water through the "Go Boating" initiative. He sponsors several industry-related charitable foundations and volunteers his time to speak to student organizations regarding entrepreneurship, business operations and sales.

Between 2005 and 2008, Carmine served two consecutive terms on the Board of Directors of the IYBA/FYBA. It was during this time that Carmine felt he was most connected and best able to serve the industry as a whole. He looks forward to utilizing his knowledge of industry best practices and his passion for consistent improvement of the customer experience to again best serve the members of the IYBA and work toward a better future for all involved in the marine industry.
