Southpaw Yacht Sales is a nationwide boat and yacht brokerage serving individuals looking to purchase or sell their next boat. Our management team has operated as boat dealers, brokers, and wholesalers for the past two decades. With our Rhode Island team expanding into a new office, we are looking for highly motivated, experienced brokers to be a part of our growing firm.
At Southpaw Yacht Sales, we provide a full-service brokerage experience to our clients, focusing on their best interests. We strive to simplify the at times complex process, making it easy and fun for our customers. Our goal is to provide unparalleled assistance in the purchase or sale of their vessels. We specialize in the brokerage of high-quality Motor Yachts, Sport fishermen, Express Cruisers, Down East Boats, and Center Consoles.
Our ideal candidate is high-energy, outgoing, and motivated to connect with new clients. They multi-task well, can provide support to other brokers, and have a passion for customer service. They also understand market trends, pricing, and negotiation strategies within the marine industry.
As a Southpaw Yacht Sales Broker, You Will Be Responsible For:
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
- Acquiring new yacht listings by networking, prospecting, and establishing connections within the yachting community (online, phone, and in-person networking)
- Maintain a working knowledge of brokerage’s current inventory
- Utilize platforms such as Yachtcloser, Yachtbroker, and Boat Wizard to effectively promote listings
- Keeping up-to-date with the yachting market trends, including pricing, availability, and new developments.
- Arranging and conducting yacht showings for potential buyers, showcasing features, and highlighting the benefits of each vessel.
- Negotiating prices and terms between buyers and sellers to facilitate yacht sales transactions, in collaboration with the management team.
- Work closely with the in-house closing team to oversee and manage the necessary paperwork, contracts, and legal requirements involved in yacht sales transactions.
- Providing exceptional customer service throughout the buying or selling process, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Building and maintaining a strong network within the yachting industry, including connections with other brokers, yacht builders, suppliers, and service providers.
- May perform other duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications We Are Looking For:
- 3 – 5 years of marine industry experience.
- Solid experience in sales/brokerage, account development, and customer service.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Desire to be independent and create their schedule.
- Organized, self-disciplined, and motivated.
